Faculties - Representative Sports

Cardiff High School has many representative sporting teams.

 

 Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming
 
Students who successfully gain 1st or 2nd place in the Swimming and Athletics carnivals or the top 10 in cross country have the opportunity to progress though to Zone, Regional and State level carnivals.
 
 
 
 Hunter Region Trials
 
Students who have special interest or expertise in a particular sport have the opportunity to participate in trials to be selected in the Hunter Region and State Teams in their selected sport.

Knockout Competitions

Knockout games are a state competition, of which we compete in the Hunter Region area in many different sports throughout the year. Students are also given the opportunity to attend selection trials into the regional teams to compete in inter-regional carnivals and interstate competitions.
 
Our most successful teams in 2015 were:
 
- Trampoline placed top 5 in the State and top 2 in the region.
- Open Boys Cricket placed top 8 in the region.
- Under 15's Netball placed top 8 in the region.
- Bill Tuner Cup Football (Soccer) placed top 8 in the region.
 
The 2014 Baseball team progressed through to the NSW Knockout competition as the Hunter Region runners up and the 2014 Under 15’s Netball team were the Zone Champions.

Sports Presentation and Awards
 
The sports committee recognises the sporting achievements of students from Cardiff High School at special presentations and award ceremony held throughout the year.
